Our history
The history of Bridge Sheet Metal goes back to 1945. But the story begins with George Harman the man who started the company. During World War II George worked for aviation companies, Vickers Armstrong, De Havilland Aircraft Company and lesser known Medspin making carburetors, tools and components for the busy aircraft industry.
After the War and demob he set up in the arches off Lea bridge road working on his first interest, cars. There weren't that many about just after the war so the business worked repairing hard to find parts, panels and general repairs. As the 50's came and the numbers of cars grew Bridge Sheet Metal Works was able to focus completely on car panel repairs. The business has been in the same location every since.
